Thermo Systems Attends the SWE National Conference in Texas

Four members of the Thermo Systems team had the opportunity to attend the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) annual conference in Houston, Texas. In line with Thermo’s support for Women in Automation, attending the SWE conferences has become a tradition. Attendees had the opportunity to network, engage in meaningful conversations regarding women in engineering, and learn from industry leaders.

In addition to the incredible agenda filled with insightful topics and inspirational content, our team represented Thermo Systems at the 2-day career fair. They spoke to hundreds of female students and job seekers about career opportunities within control systems and Thermo Systems. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to recruit talented professionals for Thermo’s summer internship program, interview and hire experienced engineers to help us deliver excellence for our customers, and provide professional development for the team.

As part of our support for SWE and women in engineering, Thermo offers our women in engineering and other technical roles SWE annual memberships to enhance their individual development and professional network. Offering opportunities for mentoring, training, and professional growth is part of our core value, employee success, at Thermo Systems.

I am thrilled that Thermo Systems supports our involvement with SWE,” said Meghan Mychajliw, Thermo’s Control System Engineer. “Our industry is heavily male-dominated, so it’s important to have strong female role models, a good support system, and a diverse network to thrive in the STEM workforce. Attending the SWE conference has made me incredibly optimistic about the future of women in STEM.

For over seven decades, SWE has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. SWE’s mission is to empower women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering and technology professions as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion. Thermo Systems is proud to support this organization and the women members of our team.
