Thermo Kicks Off Systems Integration Contract for 48MW CHP Plant in California

Thermo Systems kicked off the Systems Integration design and deployment for Molycorp Minerals’ new 48MW Combined Heat and Power Plant in Mountain Pass, CA.  This state of the art plant will utilize a total of four Solar Titan 130 gas turbine generators rated at altitude at approximately 12MW each.  Duct fired Heat Recovery Steam Generators will produce a plant total of up to 520,000 pounds per hour of high pressure steam to serve Molycorp’s new mining and manufacturing facility.  The plant will also include a three MW black start Caterpillar Diesel Generators and two 600-ton Trane glycol chillers for turbine air inlet cooling.

Thermo Systems is deploying an Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC solution integrated with the plant wide GE iFix SCADA platform.
